GenieSummary

Otter Creek Campground is a great spot for a weekend getaway, especially if you love hiking and camping. The staff are very friendly and helpful, as are the seasonal tenants. The office and store are well-stocked with groceries, camping gear, clothing, and gifts, and even has a selection of ice cream. The entire campground is well-maintained, even though most of it is on the side of a hill. Although there are no sewer hookups on site, there is a dump station on the way out of the park and a honey wagon service is available. The electric and water connections are conveniently located at your site, but be aware that the sites are not level. There is no TV reception, but Verizon phones have decent signal here. The bath house and showers looked clean but some reviewers said that it smelled. Laundry facilities have 2 washers and 2 dryers with each costing $2.50 per load. A nice playground is available for kids.

From The Campground

Otter Creek Campground is a tranquil campground located in southern York County, PA, bordering both the Susquehanna River and Otter Creek. The campground offers 89 spacious sites on thirty-four acres of gorgeous woodland. In addition to water and electric campsites, the campground features a boat launch and picnic area along the Susquehanna River, as well as miles of hiking trails. Day visitors pay a parking fee at the camp store. Picnic tables and grills are available along with a play area. The campground is open mid-April to October and is operated by John & Lori Keohane and their team of caretakers who make sure the campground is maintained to the high standards campers expect. As this is a campground surrounded by nature, visitors may encounter wildlife of all kinds. To some wildlife, this is their natural habitat, so visitors are asked to be respectful to all creatures great and small. Visitors may notice an occasional deer wandering through the campground, or a fox or a groundhog or even a skunk, but they are asked not to feed them. Human food is not good for them. Visitors may also see ducks, geese, and birds of all kinds here at the campground, but they are asked to enjoy them from a distance. As with all animals, there is a chance they might bite, scratch, or even spray visitors when they feel threatened. By using common sense, visitors and animals can use the campground together.
