Hickory Run Campground in Denver, PA is a great place for camping and offers spacious sites that come with picnic tables and fire rings with grills. The area is perfect for outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, and kayaking. The visitor center has been recently redone, and it looks beautiful. However, some facilities are not well maintained, including the shower house and laundry building that are in poor condition and the laundry equipment that smells foul. The grass is always ankle-deep; there are large gravel piles, downed trees, and wood piles throughout the campground, and a sewage truck is onsite. Guests cannot receive any incoming or outgoing mail or deliveries. To access the site, campers have to traverse a small bridge and a rain-washed road, and some sites are sewerless without a price adjustment. Despite the challenges, many visitors have returned year after year and enjoyed the facilities and camaraderie of fellow campers.
