The dinner cruise on the Proud Mary was very good, the price was reasonable, the food was great, the staff helpful and friendly. Walnut Campground is a great place for a peaceful getaway. Situated in the middle of nowhere Pennsylvania, the campground is surrounded by wooded hills and a huge, beautiful lake. Amenities and activities include a great swimming beach, boat rentals, a small water park (which was closed during our stay), free launch ramp and parking, and a fishing paradise. The sites are not level, but they have ample room for fire rings, picnic tables, and tents. The roads departing the area are narrow and the parking lot is barely large enough for a smaller bumper pull, much less a 40ft 136 high fifth wheel. There is a honey wagon that comes around daily for an additional fee, but the tank still registered at 3/4 full after they left. The restaurant is pricy for the value, but the dinner cruise on the Proud Mary is worth it. The staff is helpful and friendly, and the food is great. Be careful of the super tight intersections when coming from Breezewood.
