Bald Eagle State Park Russell P Letterman Campground in Howard, PA is a great park with private campsites and plenty of space between them. The park offers heated bathrooms, which is a nice feature. If you prefer full hook-ups, Oak Loop is the way to go as some sites in Sycamore Loop have no services at all. Despite this, the park and surrounding area are beautiful and clean with great trails. The campsites are laid out nicely with green space in between, and there are many picnic areas and boat launches. The park is conveniently located off I-80 and still feels secluded without any traffic noise. Service with T-Mobile was good. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it for those looking to explore the back roads in the area.

Bald Eagle State Park is a beautiful park located in Howard, PA. The park offers a wide variety of environmental education and recreation programs year-round. Visitors can gain appreciation and awareness toward the natural and historical resources through guided walks, hands-on activities, and campfire programs. The park also offers curriculum-based outdoor investigations and hands-on environmental activities to local schools, youth and community organizations, and homeschool associations. Programs for children to learn about the environment are presented annually through Pennsylvania state park’s DiscoverE day camp. The park has two, 2-plug, electric-vehicle charging stations available for public use in the park office lower parking area. Access to boating on the lake for people with disabilities is available at the marina. Pavilions #6 and #7 in the Beach Picnic Area are ADA accessible. If you need an accommodation to participate in park activities due to a disability, please contact the park you plan to visit. The nearest hospital is Lock Haven Hospital, which is located 13 miles away from the park entrance. Bald Eagle State Park is a great place to visit for anyone looking to learn, experience, and connect with nature.
