GenieSummary
This KOA campground is conveniently located off 81 and is great for overnight stays while traveling to and from New England. The pull-through and back-in sites are varied in size, with gravel pads, some with concrete patios or pavers, and most are suitable for big rigs. Cable and WiFi are provided and are both decent; Verizon service is excellent, and AT&T is very good for streaming. The campground offers most of the usual KOA amenities, including a good-sized store that serves hot food. Several fast food restaurants are across the street, and the nearest town is a short drive away. The bathrooms are warm and clean, with hot water and dryers available. Laundry facilities are okay, but some of the washers and dryers were broken during our visit. The KOA has a nice playground for kids and a grassy, fenced-in dog area. The campground offers great walking trails nearby, the Swatara Rail Trail, and the Appalachian Trail. Except for some occasional rough spots, the roads are wide enough and easy to navigate. While it is expensive for what you get, the staff is friendly and efficient, and the camp store fairly well-stocked.
