Cowans Gap State Park is a beautiful getaway in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania. With 224 sites spread across two campgrounds, there is plenty of room to explore and enjoy the park. The lake is a great spot for swimming, fishing, boating, and picnicking. There are canoes, kayaks and small boats available to rent, and the beach is a great spot to relax. The trails are well marked and offer spectacular views of the surrounding area. The sites are mostly level and shaded, with plenty of room for tents, RVs and campers. There are no sewer hookups, but there is a dump station and water spigots throughout the campground. There is also a visitor center and concession building at the beach. The park is 6 miles off of the main road and there is no cell service, making it ideal for a peaceful getaway.

The park is also ADA accessible, with facilities available for use by people with disabilities. The park does not have a campground, but does offer cabins and overnight lodging. Nearby attractions include Little Buffalo State Park and the Fulton County Medical Center.
