Kooser is a small and pretty campground located in Pennsylvania, perfect for a rest stop on the way to Canada. It offers four full hookup sites, all pull-through and level, and plenty of other sites with 30 amp electric only. The campground also has cabins and tent sites, and is surrounded by beautiful trees. There are two simple trails for hiking, but they run close to a busy road, so it is not a quiet spot. The campground has a dump station and potable water, but the fresh water fill is located at the dump station prior to entering the campground. The bathrooms and showers are clean and the water for the shower is hot. There is a shallow stream nearby and Forbes State Forest is within an easy walk. The campground is close to Laurel Hill State Park, an almost 4000 acre park with lots of hiking and biking trails, as well as Fallingwater, the Frank Lloyd Wright home. Verizon LTE service and OTA television reception are strong. Unfortunately, the campground is parallel to a busy highway, so the noise of cars and trucks is quite pronounced.

Laurel Hill State Park offers a wide variety of environmental education and interpretive programs, including hands-on activities, guided walks, and evening programs. The park also offers curriculum-based environmental education programs to schools and youth groups, as well as teacher workshops. Programs are available year-round and can be arranged in advance by calling the park office. The park is ADA accessible and accommodations can be made for visitors with disabilities. In case of an emergency, visitors can call 911 and contact a park employee. The nearest hospital is Somerset Hospital in Somerset, PA. The park also offers camping and overnight lodging for visitors during the 2023 Trout Season.
