Ricketts Glen State Park is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the great outdoors. Located at the top of Red Rock Mountain, this clean campground offers spacious pads for tents or campers, as well as trails to the beach. There is an abundance of natural beauty and waterfalls to explore, and the fall season is especially beautiful with all the changing leaves. There are plenty of easy to moderate hikes within and near the park, and a boat rental place and concession stand located at Lake Jean. The campground also features a picnic area and beach, and the Red Rock Corner Store is a great place to pick up last minute camp needs. Unfortunately, there was a power outage when we stayed, leaving us without hot showers. Despite the rain, we had a great time camping and exploring the Glens and waterfalls. Be sure to come prepared, as the closest grocery store is about 30 minutes away.
From The Campground
Ricketts Glen State Park is a natural area with old growth forests, wetlands, and geological formations that produce 22 waterfalls. The Falls Trail is a 7.2-mile loop that offers a view of most of the waterfalls. The park offers environmental education programs, guided walks, and presentations on natural and historical resources. The food and refreshment concession near the beach sells food, refreshments, and firewood from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. The park is ADA accessible.
