It was very nice and close to the bathrooms, which is a plus. Oak Embers is a small, quiet campground located in southwestern Rhode Island. It features a pool, playground and activities in the barn. It also provides access to historical sites, cemeteries and state parks. The office manager is friendly and accommodating. The downside is that the roads can be hard to navigate, the bathrooms are outdated, and the water hook-ups are in a hole in the ground. Additionally, there is no designated spot for dog walking. Another campground nearby is owned by a campers association, and offers recent electrical and sewer upgrades and is close to Providence, Newport and Mystic. The downside is that some sites are unlevel and the pool is small.
