Take a paddle or cast a line at nearby Lake Whelchel, or head over to Historic Brattonsville for a day of costumed interpreters, 18th-century buildings, and Revolutionary War history. Time your visit right and check out the Gaffney Peach Festival in July—live music, fried food, fireworks, and a whole lot of peach everything. Whether you’re into hiking, history, or just relaxing under the trees, Iron City Campground is a solid pick for camping with room to breathe.
