Edisto Beach State Park is a great destination for camping enthusiasts. The campground has clean bathhouses and decent cell service but no wifi at the sites. The sites are dirt, so when it rains, it can be a mess. The park offers a discount for SC resident seniors. The beach is within walking distance, and there are a few restaurants and low-priced gas nearby. Some noise violations seem to go unenforced, but overall, its a good spot to unwind. Note that certain sites may be challenging to back into due to trees and tight spaces.

From The Campground

Edisto Beach State Park is one of four oceanfront state parks in South Carolina. The park features trails for hiking and biking that provide a wonderful tour of the park. The park’s environmental education center is a “green” building with exhibits that highlight the natural history of Edisto Island and the surrounding ACE Basin. For overnight accommodations, furnished cabins sit nestled in the woods, and campsites can be found along the Edisto Island oceanfront or in the shaded maritime forest.
