Swamp Fox Campground in Florence, SC, is a no-frills option thats great for an overnight stop. Its conveniently located right off the turnpike and despite the noise, its very quiet. The grounds are clean, and theres a nice playground for kids. Although GPS may take you through an abandoned hotel that is totally fenced off, you may feel a little uneasy when you see the broken windows and graffiti in the area. Additionally, the sites near the entrance may not be the most visually appealing. The staff is polite and friendly, but some have noted feeling uneasy when asked to sign documentation stating that the campground is not responsible for lost jewelry or money. While some visitors felt comfortable enough to explore the area, others found it best to stay near their rig. Overall, this is a good place to stopover for the night, especially for those just passing through.
