Hawe Creek Campground is a perfect destination for those looking to explore the 70,000 acre Thurmond Lake. Boats can be moored right near the campsites, and there is a boat ramp and fishing opportunities. The campground is well kept and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Sites range from 30 amp to 50 amp power and the price range is $24-$26 a night. There are 3 restrooms with a shower in each, and firewood is available from fallen branches. The park is easy to find with the brown sign, and the roads are asphalt with hard gravel sites. The season is currently limited, but the park would love to extend it until early December each year. This is a great place to unplug and enjoy nature, and it is great for families and pets.
