This campground is part of South Carolinas only resort park and offers a variety of outdoor activities, such as a golf course, skeet shooting range, and mountain bike trails. It is located on Lake Thurmond and many of the sites have a water view. The roads in the campground are gravel and not well maintained, making it difficult to maneuver for larger rigs. The sites are tight, unlevel, and overgrown, and the campground is a few miles from the lodge, park office, restaurant, and pool. The bathhouses are clean, but there is no paper towels or hand dryers. The pool is only available to cabin and hotel guests. There is also a problem with chiggers and ticks, and red mud is abundant.
