**General:** Dreher Island State Park is located in Prosperity, SC and offers two camping loops: Islanders Camp Circle and Anglers Camp Circle. Only the Islanders loop was open during our visit, and it offers a variety of accommodation options ranging from primitive group sites to tent sites, electric sites, camper cabins, and luxury waterfront villas. The park looks to be upgrading and doing maintenance on the Anglers loop. The roads in the Islanders loop have a few significant heaves, so caution is advised when driving. **Site Quality:** The campsite driveways are generous in size and angled to take advantage of lake views. The campsite we stayed at had neighbors only on one side, making it a desirable site. **Bathhouse:** The bathhouse was generally clean, although there appeared to be some mold (or other black substance) in the shower and along the base of the toilets. The shower had hot water, although the flow was gentler than expected. **Activities/Amenities:** Dreher Island State Park offers fishing, boating, hiking trails, and a short nature trail. Both hiking trails are accessible from the Islanders Camp Circle. During our visit, there was minimal activity on the lake, but we still enjoyed kayaking. We noticed that many campers had kayaks, rafts, boats, or other flotation devices. The rangers were friendly and made regular rounds. We appreciated that there was no noise other than children playing in the water. Overall, Dreher Island State Park offers a peaceful and quiet camping experience. Although we dont fish or boat, we enjoyed the lake view and kayaking during our stay. There are well-maintained tent sites on the lake with electricity, water, and easy lake access. The electricity and water pressure were fine, and we didnt have any issues with the dumping station. The campsite we stayed at had a new 7-day minimum stay policy, which we were informed about by the ranger. We recommend contacting the park office if an online booking is not available for the dates youre interested in.

Dreher Island State Park spans three islands, 348 acres and provides access to 12 miles of Lake Murray shoreline. Visitors will find recreational water activities, nature trails and some of the best striped and large-mouth bass fishing spots, all only 30 miles from Columbia. It has long been a popular location and launching spot for major, national fishing tournaments. For overnight accommodations with views of Lake Murray, lodging reservations can be made in our park villas, or guests can camp at one of many lakefront campsites.
