Falcons Nest FamCamp is a great military-only campground located on Shaw AFB in South Carolina. Its easy to access once you enter the Main or Truck gate, and entrance into the base is a breeze with just having to show your ID. The campground is well maintained and offers decently spaced back-in slots with a black top parking pad and concrete patio with picnic table and charcoal grill. There are no pools or other amenities, but there is access to BX/Commissary/Golf, local intramural sports, and watching the flight maneuvers. The staff is friendly and there is a 2 washer, 2 dryer coin laundry in the office building. There is also a running track adorned with interspersed workout enhancing stations and sports fields. The campground wifi did not work at the campsite, but air cards do pretty good. The noise from the jets flying around the airfield can be loud, but it also makes for great photo ops. The sewer hookup is near the front of the site which requires a long hose for most units. Inexpensive pricing for a stop over stay, but limited signage directing visitors/campers to the actual campground.

Shaw Family Campgrounds (FAMCAMP) operate on a reservation-only basis for both long-term and short-term sites. Reservations can be made 60 days in advance for active duty members; 30 days in advance for retirees and other eligible members.
