Sweetwater Lake Campground is a quiet, well-maintained campground that offers a nice lakeside setting. The owners are very friendly and welcoming, giving the campground a homey feel. The grassy sites are pretty level and nicely maintained with one power pole per site. The facilities are kept clean and although they have a unique home-like design, the water pressure and temperature control are good. There are about 25 spacious lots that overlook the lake and except for a few sites, all have water and hookups. To stay here, cash is the only acceptable form of payment. Although the park has no frills, it is perfect for those who just want a peaceful place to camp. The rescue donkeys on-site are cute and not disruptive, and theres a public hammock, rope swing, and Adirondack chairs for visitors to enjoy. If youre looking for camping in South Carolina, Sweetwater Lake Campground is definitely worth considering!
