Lake Hartwell Camping and Cabins is a run-down campground located right on the lake. The staff are friendly and helpful, but the park itself is in need of some serious sprucing up. The sites are not level, and the roads to some campsites are unpaved, narrow, and tight. The mini-golf course is falling apart and the boat dock is in disrepair. The bathrooms and laundry room are clean, but the showers have hair on the walls and the toilets have caked on human waste. The WiFi is only available near the office, and the cell service in the area is too weak to connect 3G. Electric power cuts out frequently and the septic lines are often backed up. There have been reports of vehicles being broken into, vandalism, and theft. Despite all this, the park has a lot of potential and the setting is beautiful. With some renovations, it could be a great place to stay.
