GenieSummary
Colleton is a small but well-maintained RV park and campground located very close to I-95. While there is some road noise from the nearby US-15, the tall trees scattered throughout the park provide some privacy and create a pleasant environment. The mostly small E/W/S sites are either sand or stone and are oriented towards privacy. The park is well cared for by the hosts, who ensure the sites are clean. The bathhouse is maintained and kept very clean. The campground is located close to the river and Charleston (about an hours drive). Overall, its a nice place to stay for a month or a few nights while traveling on I-95.
From The Campground
Colleton State Park is a paddler’s paradise, located a short distance from I-95 and connecting to Givhans Ferry State Park via 23 miles of blackwater river. The park provides easy access to the Edisto River, one of the longest free-flowing, blackwater rivers in the country, and serves as the headquarters for the Edisto River canoe and kayak trail. Other amenities at Colleton include an easy nature trail, a campground, picnic shelters, and ballfields.
