GenieSummary

This campground is a no-frills, budget-friendly option for those looking for a place to stay for a night or two. It is located off Highway 85 and is easy to find. The campground was formerly a city school and was sold at auction about 15 years ago. The school playground was converted into camp sites and the showers and rest rooms are what was once used as gymnasium locker rooms. The owner is friendly and accommodating, and he met us as we pulled up and cut down some tree limbs to give our slides enough space. The campground only had 1 space available because all the other sites were filled with oil field workers. Wifi is excellent and satellite TV worked. The neighborhood was a little less than desirable and there were a couple of old abandoned trailers around an old dilapidated building. The $12.00 rate is Passport America. Unfortunately, there are no pool, activities, TV, internet, or laundry available. The owners are planning on getting out of the campground business. All in all, this is an OK, no-frills place to park for a day or two, but it is not recommended to anyone.
