Fort Welikit Family Campground in Custer, SD is a wonderful and clean campground with well-spaced sites to accommodate all rig sizes. It offers a variety of 30 or 50-amp sites, several FHU, multiple tent sites, some with electrical hookups, as well as two tipis, a conostoga wagon, four kegs, and three cabins for rent. The Bathrooms and showers are cleaned daily and are always kept clean. It is located in a great location and can serve as an excellent hub for the multiple places to see in the Black Hills. The park is conveniently located just outside of Custer, in a nice quiet wooded area. Overall, it is a friendly campground with helpful hosts that is definitely worth a visit.

Fort Welikit Family Campground is located on the scenic Norbeck Byway, just one mile north of the historic city of Custer in the heart of the Black Hills. The campground offers 100 unique sites ranging from full service to rustic and from private to group and family-friendly. Amenities include full-service cabins, dry cabins, tipi rentals, covered electric tent sites, large shaded basic tent sites, private family-style bathhouses, multiple laundry facilities, a dog park and exercise area, a pavilion for group gatherings, and RV dump station and propane sales on site. The campground is just minutes away from Crazy Horse, Sylvan Lake, The Needles, Jewel Cave, and Custer State Park, with easy access to Mt. Rushmore, Deadwood, Sturgis, and all the Black Hills area attractions. Legion Lake, Stockade Lake, and Sylvan Lake are just 5 miles up the road in Custer State Park with access to swim beaches, hiking trails, fishing, and boating. Guests can enjoy the cool evenings, a warm campfire, views of the stars, and meet the resident wildlife that includes deer, turkeys, and bunnies.
