GenieSummary

This campground is a great spot for an overnight stop or a longer stay. It is located right off the main highway, so there is some road noise during the day, but it is quiet at night. It is a no hookups campground, but it is close to many attractions in the Black Hills, including the Crazy Horse Memorial Monument, Mt. Rushmore, Custer National Park, Hill City, and Deadwood. The sites are spacious and fairly level, with picnic tables and fire rings. There are pit toilets and a common water spigot, but no electric or hand wash stations. The camp host is very friendly and helpful, and the campground is well maintained. Cell phone reception is poor, but connectivity is available up the road and in Hill City and Custer. The stars at night are beautiful and there are lots of bike and ATV trails in the area.

From The Campground

Oreville Campground is a delightful setting for guests seeking recreation and relaxation in Black Hills National Forest. The sites are nestled on a hillside among aspen groves, towering ponderosa pines, and grassy areas. Many of the campsites are spacious, offering guests a sense of privacy. The campground is centrally located along Highway 16/385 just north of Crazy Horse Monument with easy access to most Black Hills attractions.
