Wheels West RV is a great option for those looking for a no-frills home base to explore the Black Hills of South Dakota. The campground has twenty sites, half with full hookups and the remainder electric and water. Pull-through sites are about 50 feet total, making it difficult to park your tow vehicle if you have a longer RV. The sites are grassy and surrounded by trees, providing excellent wildlife watching opportunities. The campground is conveniently located near a historical marker describing George Custers encampment in the area, Mount Rushmore, and Custer State Park. Prices are reasonable and a veteran discount is available. There is a restaurant on the premises that offers delicious breakfasts. The hosts are the nicest park owner/operators we have ever met and are very accommodating.
