From The Campground
West Whitlock Recreation Area is a year-round park located 18 miles west of Gettysburg off US Hwy 212. The park offers 105 campsites, 2 camping cabins, and a variety of amenities and activities for visitors to enjoy. The area was named after Mrs. J.F. Whitlock, whose pioneering family once owned the land. Whitlock Crossing was the name given to a small settlement that operated a ferry across the river near the area. The park is a popular destination for campers and fishermen alike.
