Southern Hills RV Park & Campground in Hermosa, SD is a beautiful and well-maintained campground for RV enthusiasts. The park offers easy access for larger class A RVs with tow vehicles, with mostly pull-through sites that are level and have big chunk gravel to prevent tracking into your camper. While there isnt much shade yet, the owner is planting new trees and tending to the existing ones daily, so shade will be coming. The park is conveniently located within walking distance to a Dollar General and restaurant. For those who are staying long term, packages are accepted and there is a park Wi-Fi for basic internet surfing. T-Mobile and Verizon service are both good in this area. It only takes 45 minutes to visit popular attractions like Rushmore, Wind Cave, and Custer State Park, and 20 minutes to visit Rapid City, but keep in mind that it will take about 90-100 minutes to get to sites like Badlands and Minuteman Missile Silo. Overall, its a lovely spot that they would certainly return to.
