Located in Hill City, SD, Mount Rushmore KOA Resort at Palmer Gulch is a large RV campground with a wide range of amenities sure to please everyone in the family. They offer two pools, live entertainment, horseback riding, fishing and many other outdoor activities. A highlight is their all-you-can eat pancakes in the morning. The Chuck Wagon is an enjoyable excursion, with great food and a fun wagon and horse ride. Though some sites were tight, the campsite is generally large and easy to navigate. There were a few potholes and uneven gravel, but nothing too difficult to manage. They offer a shuttle to Mount Rushmore for night-time viewing, which is a real treat. The staff are kind and professional, and the campground has a high-end feel with plenty of amenities to justify the slightly higher price.
