The sites are spread out with large lawns and plenty of trees to provide shade. The facilities are fairly new and kept clean. The lake provides great access for boating and swimming, with beautiful views of the sunset. The shower and toilet are available at two cubicles, and there are also several vault toilets around. Sheps Canyon rec area primitive camping is also available with 40 sites that are fc/fs and include half-backup to the water. The area provides a great opportunity to enjoy the natural beauty, with a spectacular view of the lake. However, if you choose a tent site, make sure your tent size is appropriate as some spots are not accommodating for larger tents. Bugs are prevalent, so be sure to bring repellent. Overall, this is a fantastic place to stay and experience the beauty of the surrounding area.
