What others are saying about this campground

This campground is located in a city park with a great view of the James River. It offers a variety of activities, such as golf, disc golf, hiking trails, playgrounds, and horseshoe pits. The RV sites are not well maintained, with some having picnic tables and others not. There is a full hookup with nice level sites, and a small golf course across the road. The campground host was not very friendly, but the new camp host in 2008 was very helpful in checking us in. There is a dump station, a walking path, and a bike path. The lake has zebra mussels, and the put-in could get busy since its free parking. Pets are allowed, but must be kept on a leash. Reservations can be made, but there is no guarantee of getting the reserved spot.

Huron SD Camping offers a variety of campgrounds and campsites for visitors to enjoy the scenic surroundings of the town. The campgrounds include Memorial Park Campground, SD State Fairgrounds, Red Wilk Campground, Traveler Motel & Campground, Gross Hill Campground, and Byron Bible Camp. Memorial Park Campground offers 24 sites with full hookups, 49 sites for tent camping, showers, a dump station, tables, grills, and lake and river fishing access. SD State Fairgrounds is the largest campground in the state with over 1,200 camping sites with electrical and water hookups and 50 sites with full hookups. Red Wilk Campground has 46 camping spots with full hookups including water, sewer, electric, garbage, Wi-Fi, and laundry. Traveler Motel & Campground has 25 camping spots with electrical hookups, a water filling station, and a dump station exclusively for Traveler Motel registered campers. Gross Hill Campground overlooks Lake Byron and has 46 camping sites with full hookups. Byron Bible Camp is a Christian camp and retreat center located on beautiful Lake Byron about 15 miles north of Huron, SD. They can provide housing, camping, kitchen facilities, large meeting areas, and a wide variety of activities. There are indoor dorm rooms, tents, and RV sites, with excellent outdoor location for great campfires. The camp can accommodate up to 90 people, and set up teepee tents for additional individuals to stay in. It is a non-alcohol, Christ-centered facility.
