Piedmont Campground is a roomy, affordable campground located just minutes from Rapid City and its attractions. The grounds are not well-kept, with long-term RVs and questionable hook-ups, but the new owners are making improvements. The sites are not all level, but there are plenty of spaces and room between them, with picnic tables and fire rings (though the latter are currently not in use due to a no-fire law). WiFi is available, and the staff is friendly. There is no pool or hot tub, but the shower stalls are large enough for a large man. The campground does not accept credit cards or provide professional receipts, but it is a great bargain. The car lot on the north side and the adjoining junk yard detract from the down home feeling of the campground, but overall it is a great place to stay.

Being the first Campground established in South Dakota, we strive to keep that Old West feeling alive. The Covered Wagon Resort provides a quaint, quiet place where you can rest well and be close to all the Black Hills have to offer.
