What others are saying about this campground
Big Bend Dam Campground is a large Corps of Engineers park with 76 foot pull-thru sites, each with 50 amp electric and a fire ring/grill. The sites are paved and fairly level, with plenty of trees providing shade and a curved slatted wall over the concrete picnic tables. There are water spigots all around the campground, a dump station, and a fish cleaning station. The campground is easy to maneuver, even in the dark, and the host is friendly and helpful. Cell phone service is weak, but there is a small grocery and gas station in Fort Thompson, on the Indian Reservation. There is also a casino nearby. The campground is clean and quiet, and the scenery and lake are great. The playgrounds and horse shoe pits provide entertainment for the kids. It is a great value for the price, and would be a great place to stay for a night or two.
