So dont come in too late.. A great boon docking park. This campground is a great spot for outdoor enthusiasts looking to explore the Black Hills and surrounding areas. Located just outside of Sturgis at the base of Bear Butte, the campground offers access to a small lake, perfect for fishing, paddle boarding, and kite surfing. Tent spots are $11.67, and each site has a metal picnic table and fire ring. There is a small campground area mainly for tents, and a larger campground area for vans, trailers, and RVs. There is no need to pay the $8 day pass fee to enter the campground. The vault toilet is clean and the entire area is litter free. Although the ranger assured us the campground never fills up, it had by 8 pm, so come in early. This is a great boon docking park and a great spot to use as a headquarters for exploring the area.
