This campground is situated on the Big Sioux River, providing beautiful scenery and plenty of mature trees. It is a great spot for kayaking and walking along the river, and is only a 30 minute drive from Sioux Falls for sightseeing. There are both tent camping and RV sites, with hookups and plenty of grass for dogs. The Big Sioux River is too swift to swim in, but there is a small cove area and a nearby “beach” with a good size pond area for swimming for a small fee. The only downside is that there is no counter space, shelf, bench/chair or hooks in the bathroom/shower, making it difficult to shower. However, the Manager, Autumn, went out of her way to help guests back into their sites, and the campground is nice and quiet. Dogs and cats are allowed to roam freely, and it is a great spot for small RVs.

From The Campground

River of the Double Bend Campground is an RV park located in Trent, SD. The campground offers clean bathrooms, a kayak launch, and a swimming/fishing hole. The sites are pretty close together, but the campground is peaceful and right on the river. They also offer free wood for campfires. The staff is friendly and helpful.
