The camp store is well-stocked with fishing gear and rental movies. The campground has 25 RV sites, 5 tent sites, and four waterfront cabins. Wi-Fi and rental motors and boats are available at the office. The owners live on-site, are very friendly, and go out of their way to ensure everyone has a great camping visit. The camping rate reflects Passport America discount, and seven days or more is $18. However, the sites are very crowded, and there is lots of dust due to the dirt sites. Additionally, there are millions of flies due to the close proximity of horses and their by-products. The swimming pool is indoor and seemed clean, but the dressing rooms for the swimming pool were fair. Visitors who prefer spacious sites and dislike dirt and flies may not enjoy camping at Glens Cove.

From The Campground

Chilhowee Campground is located in the Chilhowee Recreation Area within the Cherokee National Forest. The campground offers more than 70 campsites, including electric hookups, RV sites, and tent-only sites. Multiple bathhouses are available. The campground is usually open from early April to late October, with an overflow area and day use area open year-round. 7-acre McKamy Lake offers a swim area with a sand beach, and fishing from the bank. Boats are allowed, but gasoline motors are not. Also, within the recreation area are approximately 25 miles of hiking and biking trails, and a scenic waterfall. Wildlife is abundant in this area, so have your camera ready and tread lightly.
