The campground staff is friendly and helpful, making it easy for campers to feel right at home. The campground has two areas, one located by a river without hookups and the other is a campground with hookups and a creek. The sites are spacious, and the whole campground is well maintained. The campground has 3 pull-through sites with 30/50 amp service, and several sites closer to the creek. The bathhouse is clean, and there are showers available in the centrally located bathhouse. The campground is equipped with Wi-Fi, and there is a lovely trail right from the campground with labeled trees. There are some great hikes and walks from the campground, and a museum is there to visit during the day. Camden is the nearest town about 10 miles away for necessary supplies. All in all, Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park is a hidden gem and definitely worth visiting for a peaceful and enjoyable camping experience.

Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park is a Tennessee State Park that offers year-round RV and primitive campsites, as well as seasonal backcountry camping. The park is home to the Tennessee River Folklife Interpretive Center and Museum situated on one of the highest points in West Tennessee, Pilot Knob. The center features the lifeways and customs of folks on the Tennessee River including musseling, crafts, commercial fishing, and more. The park contains more than 20 miles of hiking trails. Overnight lodging options include cabins overlooking Kentucky Lake and your choice of RV camping or pitching a tent at our primitive campground. A third campground is reserved for supervised youth groups such as scouts. It is located on Campground Road along Harmon's Creek. Five backcountry shelters are available.
