GenieSummary
The owners are so friendly and helpful, and the surrounding area is beautiful. There are plenty of trails for our family to explore and plenty of beautiful places to fish. Mountain Pass Campground is a peaceful and quiet campground located on the Powell River. It offers easy access to Cumberland Gap National Park and is a great place for families to explore. The campsite coordinates arrivals and departures during busy season to avoid head to head meetings on the road. The park is a mix of long term and short term, with decent WiFi and no over the air TV or cable at the transient sites. The owners are friendly and accommodating, and the grounds are beautifully landscaped. However, the campground has a lengthy list of rules, including quiet time from 9PM to 7AM and no outside lights on. The nearby road has tight hairpin curves, making it difficult to navigate with anything other than a 4WD truck/short trailer combination. For those with pets, there are restrictions on fencing and leash lengths. Despite this, the campground is highly recommended for its incredible views and peaceful atmosphere.
