Natchez Trace State Park is an idyllic campground located off the beaten path, 13 miles from I-40. The drive in is through some beautiful heavy forests and the campground itself is full of trees, offering plenty of shade. The sites are level, well-maintained, and have full service hookups, including 30A electric and water. The campground is big-rig friendly and can handle any size rig with any number of slides. The park offers a variety of activities, including fishing, boating, hiking, biking, horseback riding, ATV riding, hunting, and camping. Guests staying in the park are not required to obtain special passes for kayaks or canoes. The park also has a restaurant in the Pin Oak Lodge, about a mile away, which offers a seafood buffet on Friday nights. Cell service is spotty in the campground, but Verizon worked better with a booster. The campground hosts, Gary and Becky Ferguson, are warm and hospitable, making the camping experience much more pleasant. The bath house is the cleanest and most well kept that many have seen anywhere. The park is also conveniently located near Lexington, TN, just a couple of miles away.
