Also, the laundry room was a bit cramped. Dyess AFB FamCamp is a small, military-only campground located in Abilene, Texas. It is situated only 5 minutes from the bases commissary and BX, and offers 18 concrete pads with full hookups, including cable. The sites are level and the interior roads are easy to navigate, and there is ample parking and light at night. The campground also has a well-stocked laundry facility with 3 washers and 3 dryers, all in working order, for $1.25 each, including a change machine. There are no other amenities such as a playground, pool, dog walk, propane, or camp store, and the bathrooms dont even have hand soap at the sinks. The daily rate of $35 is high for the facilities, but the weekly rate of $130 is inline with other military famcamps. There is also lots of construction going on, making it difficult to get back to the campsite if you are in a big rig.

FamCamp is a premier campground located in one of the quietest areas of Dyess AFB. It offers 24 campsites with hook-up sites that include 20/30/50 amps of electricity and water & sewage hookups. The campground also provides laundry and bath facilities, water and dump station, WiFi password and cable box, tent camping, picnic tables & barbecue grills, and access to the base fishing pond. Campers can enjoy some of the lowest fees in the Big Country at only $35 a night, $165 weekly, or $420 a month. Reservations can be made 60 days out by Active Duty Members and 30 days out for all other eligible users.
