It is a great spot for camping, with 20 RV sites with water and 50/30/15 amp pedestals, and another 46 tent sites. The sites are wide and paved, but not very deep. The roads and parking spots are asphalt, and the entrance road has lots of hills and curves. The park is located on the banks of Lake Austin, and all sites are first come, first serve. There is an extra vehicle charge, $5 M-T, $8 F-S & Holidays. The washrooms are a notch above primitive, but clean. There is no Wi-Fi, but cell and broadband services work well. The park is conveniently located to visit friends in town, and is also close to the city of Austin, only 20 minutes away. However, the park can get quite noisy due to its popularity, and the lack of lids on trash cans can lead to trash being spread all over the place in the mornings.

Emma Long Metropolitan Park is a city park in Austin, Texas that is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year from 7:00am to 10:00pm. The park features open space, camp sites, boat ramps, reservation based large picnic table sites and a designating beach entry swimming area. The park offers primitive camping, RV camping, and picnic table rentals. Visitors can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, fishing, and boating. Alcohol consumption is allowed at rented campsites and confirmed (paid) reservations of the picnic table event areas. Disabled Veterans receive free park entry day use passes.
