This campground is located in the middle of the West Texas desert, providing a welcome oasis for travelers. The highlight of this park is the 1.75-acre San Solomon Spring-fed swimming pool, which is fed by an artesian spring and remains between 72 - 76 degrees year round. The pool is 25 feet deep, and is a great spot for swimmers, waders, and SCUBA divers. The campgrounds are split evenly between back-ins and pull-throughs, and each site has a concrete pad with a picnic table, fire ring, and BBQ grill. The cost is $14 per night with a Texas State Parks pass, and there is an extra usage fee per person, per day due to the natural springs. There is also a Chihuahuan Desert Nature Center and Botanical Gardens nearby with excellent hiking trails and beautiful views. The park is dog friendly, and has good Verizon and ATT reception, but no OTA. The staff is friendly, and the park is clean and quiet.

The park is located at an elevation of 3205 feet and has warm days with cool nights from May to September. The park has an average rainfall of about 14 inches and low humidity year-round.
