This campground is situated near the southern tip of Lake Bastrop and is a great spot for those who enjoy boating and fishing. The park is well-maintained with plenty of trails, a store, a boat ramp with fish-cleaning station, a lighted fishing pier, and a mini golf course. The campsites are a little close together but are separated by trees and brush, providing a private and peaceful atmosphere. The full hookup sites have tons of trees, lots of room for larger rigs, and BBQ grills and fire pits that are cleared of ash and debris. The campground also has 6 shower/toilet units, a burn ban, and friendly hosts and staff. The only downside is that the utility company was doing work in the park during our stay, and the 6 shower/toilet units were inadequate for the size of the campground. Additionally, the lake is grown up with weeds and the sites dont have direct lake views. Still, this is a great spot to stay and the park fills up quickly, so reservations should be made in advance.
