Matagorda Bay Nature Park in Bay City, TX is a secluded and serene RV park with level concrete sites that easily accommodates larger rigs. The water has a slight yellow tinge, but its perfectly safe to drink. The park is adjacent to a river that flows into the Gulf with a beautiful beach that is a short walk from the campsite. The beach is private with plenty of pristine shells. Dogs must be on leashes within the park but can roam free on the beach. Check-in can be a bit confusing as there isnt any clear signage to the gift shop where check-in is located. The park offers bug spray as mosquitos can be prevalent near the marsh, but its not an issue on the beach. While the campground is beautiful, the facilities are outdated and limited.
