What others are saying about this campground
Chisos Basin Campground is a stunning National Park campground located in Big Bend National Park. It is perfect for small pop-ups, travel trailers and motorhomes, but not suitable for RVs over 24 feet. The views from the campsites are breathtaking, and the park offers plenty of opportunities for hiking, rock scrambling, and wildlife spotting. There are no hookups or showers available, but the restrooms are clean and have cold water in the sinks. There is a small store up the hill with basic necessities. Be sure to arrive in daylight as the campground is laid out curiously, and make reservations to ensure you get a site thats big enough for your rig. Be aware that the road into the campground is steep in places with severe switchbacks, and the dump station is designed backwards. Also, be aware that the air is dry and nights can be quite cold, and Mexican Jays will steal food from picnic tables.
