This campground is located several miles south of I-20 and is a great spot for an overnight stay or a few days of exploration. It is not a destination park, but it is big rig friendly and offers spacious and level sites with gravel pads, full hookups with 50 amp, and mature trees for shade. The office is friendly and efficient, and they offer discounts for travelers in Texas. Unfortunately, they no longer offer Good Sam discounts and the Wi-Fi is unreliable. The bathrooms require a combination and there is no lighting outside, so be sure to bring a flashlight. The dryers need to be upgraded and the park is lacking in night lighting, particularly at the entrance. There is also a lot of trash, bottles, and cigarette butts on the grounds, so it could use some yard care. Despite these issues, the campground is still worth the drive for a peaceful stay.
