Austin Oaks RV Park is a newly remodeled campground located across from McKinney Roughs Nature Park. It offers 70 new back-in sites, many with concrete patios and pet enclosures, as well as a new pool, modern laundry, and black top interior roads. All sites have full hookups and good OTA TV reception. The owners live on-site and are friendly and helpful. The campground has washboard roads with pot holes, and some of the concrete slabs in the pull-through area are breaking up. The sites are angled so that the afternoon sun is on the port side of the RV, providing some shade. There is a major drain that runs through the middle of the campground, and the owner will turn on cable for the week. Austin Oaks is close to Bastrop and shopping, and is 23 miles south of Austin.
