Double Lake Recreation Area in Coldspring, TX is known for its beautiful and serene environment, located close to the Lonestar Hiking Trail and mountain bike trails. It offers campsites that are a mix of lakeside and wooded areas. There are plenty of trees all around, which make the campground shady and cool. The restrooms in the park are clean, and camp hosts are friendly and helpful. However, some of the showers were out of order during our visit, and the park needs to be repaired. The phone reception is good throughout the park, but there is limited view of the sky, and for satellite signals, it can be challenging. There is no dump station, but two back-in sites by the entrance, or an unoccupied pull-through site can be used for dump draining. There are four RV sites with sewer, and the rest are water+electricity only. Overall, its an excellent recreational area for those who love hiking, mountain biking, and being surrounded by nature.
