From The Campground

Oyster Lake Park is a small park located about 9 miles south of the town of Collegeport and approximately 15 miles south of the intersection of FM521 and FM1095. It provides access to fish West Matagorda Bay and Oyster Lake. It is also one of the sites on The Great Texas Birding Trail. There are no amenities, but camping is allowed. Currents can be swift in the channel especially on a falling tide. The road to get there is passable by any vehicle but it is rough and you will be travelling very slowly on the county road. This is a good spot to fish the shoreline or launch a kayak to fish Oyster Lake. Be cautious if you plan to fish Oyster Lake by boat. It is very shallow and it is named “Oyster Lake” for a reason. There is no usage fee at the park.
