Daingerfield State Park is a beautiful park situated on a small lake. The park has a good number of hiking trails and a swimming area with a dock and kayak rentals available. Shade trees surround most of the campsites, but not all of the back-in sites are long enough for big rigs. The Big Pine Camping Area provides full hook-ups with access to the lake, concrete patios, aluminum picnic tables, and fire ring/grills at each site. The OTA TV reception at the park was good but susceptible to weather-related issues, while Verizon hot spot produced excellent Internet connectivity with strong Verizon phone service. The park is gated and locked at night, giving quiet ease during night time to avoid highway noise.

To guarantee entry, reservations are highly recommended and can be made online or by calling the customer service center. The campground has an entrance fee of $4 for adults, and children 12 years and under are free. The campground is located at an elevation of 402 feet and has a January average low of 42 degrees and a July average high of 94 degrees. Nearby state parks, historic sites, and state natural areas include Lake Bob Sandlin State Park, Atlanta State Park, and Caddo Lake State Park.
