Del Rio Campground is an older campground located near the Amistad Reservoir and Recreation area and a good size city (Del Rio) with most anything you would need. The campground is level and has plenty of room to spread out and relax. It offers a variety of activities such as a live band on Saturday night, church service on Sunday, free bi-weekly pancake breakfast, hot dogs BBQ, ice cream social, crafts, ladies coffee, Bible study and pot luck dinner. It also has a poker and indoor shuffleboard room where you can drink and party at your leisure. The sites are pretty beat up, broken service boxes seem to be the norm. The sewer hook ups are left without covers, causing an unpleasant smell. Cable didnt work but we did have water and electricity but the hook ups were old. The owner acknowledged our prior rezo and apologized while admitting to taking advantage of the demand for RV sites the oil boom provided. The owner is acting as a slum lord and the park is in decline. There is a better campground closer to town something Mill - cant remember the first name. The Chevron (former Exxon) station has 15 to 20 campsites and they catch a lot of overflow. There is also what appears to be a large new campground being built that could be open as early as summer, 2008.

Holiday Trav-L-Park is the largest and only four-star travel park in the Del Rio area. It is located less than a mile from beautiful Lake Amistad and offers 150 grass/shaded sites, 119 pull-through parking, paved interior roads, 20, 30 & 50amp service, laundry room, spacious rec-hall with kitchen, telephone service available, and free Wi-Fi. The park is only half a mile from the #1 Bass Fishing Lake in the World, Lake Amistad. It is also close to boat launch, Laughlin AFB, and the Mexican border. The park offers clean bathhouses, a playground, swimming pool, and free Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners. Tours to Mexico, Sonora, Lucky Eagle Casino, and other points of interest are also available.
