From The Campground

Lake Meredith National Recreation Area offers several primitive campgrounds for off-road vehicle enthusiasts, horseback riders, hikers, and mountain bikers. The Blue Creek Off-Road Area and Rosita Flats Off-Road Area are accessible for off-road vehicles, while Plum Creek is a popular area for horseback riding, hiking, and bicycling. Chimney Hollow and Bugbee are remote and primitive campgrounds that offer a peaceful camping experience. All campgrounds have vault-evaporator toilets, picnic tables, and fire pits. However, there is no drinking water available, so visitors must bring their own. The area is a great place for birdwatching and offers beautiful shade trees. Visitors are encouraged to practice Leave No Trace principles.
