From The Campground
Lake Meredith National Recreation Area is a hidden oasis within the dry plains of the Texas Panhandle. The Canadian River has cut dramatic 200-foot canyons, or breaks, where humans lived many years ago. Lake Meredith occupies these hidden coves and is a haven for migratory birds and other wildlife. The park offers 11 different campgrounds to enjoy the lake or find an off-the-grid campsite. Visitors can also enjoy hiking on several trails with diverse habitats, hunting, fishing, and off-roading.
